Chevy truck cross sills are a great addition to your 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, or 1959 Chevy truck restoration. The 1955(2nd Series) to 1959 shortbed stepsides had a 3rd cross sill different than the others. The outer end of this sill is formed upwards to provide clearance outboard of the frame rails. When restoring a classic truck, there is no better place to start than the bed. Depending on the year of your truck, it had between three to five cross sills and two reinforcement strips running across under the wood (or steel from 1967 and up). The front bed panel behind the cab, and the rear cross sill are also key in holding the bed together. Eckler’s is proud to offer all the parts you need to restore your truck.
