Chevy truck cross sills are the metal support channels between the bed and frame. When restoring a 1955-1959 classic truck, there is no better place to start than the bed. Depending on the year of your truck, it had between three to five cross sills and two reinforcement strips running under the wood (steel for 1967 and up). Behind the cab, the front bed panel and the rear cross sills are fundamental in holding the bed together.
