      Description

For clarity, there are many names for the modern OEM fuel pump driver/fuel computer. Fuel System Control Module, Fuel Pump Pressure Module, Fuel Pump Driver Module, etc. These OEM drivers all basically do the same thing; they communicate with the ECM to drive the fuel pumps at the speed needed to provide the requested fuel pressure. These are exact systems that use a fuel pressure sensor as feedback. Nearly every aftermarket ECM does not have this capability. Instead, they may have an option to output a signal to a pump driver. These are not exact systems and require an external fuel pressure regulator. We'll get to that in just a moment, but please keep reading since many of the features carry over with the returnless systems._x005F_x000D_

_x005F_x000D_The newest series OEM engines and engine control systems have some of the best fuel control technology available today. But, like all gearheads, we usually want more, right?_x005F_x000D_

_x005F_x000D_Unfortunately, the OEM FSCM's leave much to be desired when more fuel is needed. They do not have sufficient electronics power capacity and insufficient wiring terminal size to supply power for more than one fuel pump. To keep the FSCM working it needs some help._x005F_x000D_

_x005F_x000D_This kit allows the OEM FSCM to control the primary pump while the VaporWorx Ally DualX controller "Piggybacks" and takes care of the second. The Ally Ally DualX takes its operating commands from the FSCM pulsed wire to tell it how to operate. No user programming, system changes, or adjustments are needed._x005F_x000D_

_x005F_x000D_When used this way there is sufficient power for all fuel pump modules while maintaining full FSCM CAN feedback and diagnostics. All pumps will effectively be under the control of the FSCM. This arrangement typically eliminates MIL codes caused by too much power being required by the FSCM. This is a popular way to use high-output pumps (Deatchwerks and AEM) in Cadillac CTS-V2 fuel modules to eliminate the troublesome MIL codes. Use the FSCM to drive one pump, and the VaporWorx Ally controller to drive the second pump._x005F_x000D_

_x005F_x000D_With just a single 20ga wire to attach to the FSCM fuel pump pulsed wire to the fuel pump, it’s just battery power in, and fuel module power out. No on/off switch, etc. It just follows the FSCM once it turns on and controls the secondary module. The Ally controller can use either a pulsed positive (nearly all OEM applications) or a pulsed pull-to-ground signal for operation_x005F_x000D_

_x005F_x000D_It is strongly suggested to NOT use an inline filter with with OEM fuel modules except Gen3 Coyote GT500. Final filtering is built in. Some aftermarket fuel filters have a built-in check valve which will cause a heat-soak related overpressure condition that will lock up port type fuel injectors._x005F_x000D_

_x005F_x000D_For those that have an aftermarket ECM like the Holley Terminator, Dominator, etc. that have the option to output a pulsed signal, it can be routed to the Ally DualX controller to provide a high-power fuel pump driver module. Create a table using the ECM software to slow down the pump(s) during idle/cruise (roughly 50% duty cycle) but have them at full speed (100% duty cycle) before the engine reaches full power. The Ally DualX controller can use either a positive or pull-to-ground signal. Nearly all solid state relays are not up to the task of properly driving inductive loads (pumps, fans, etc.) at the high frequencies needed to provide proper pressure control. The Ally DualX has this covered and much more.
