If LEDs aren't working in your classic car, then you most likely have a resistance problem. LED lighting draws a significantly lower electrical load than ordinary incandescent bulbs. A typical blub will draw anywhere from 2 to 3 amps, while an entire LED array will draw less than 1 amp. Standard flashers rely on at least a few amps in order to operate. If the flasher doesn't see your lights drawing those amps, it won't flash them. For this reason you need what are called "no load" LED flashers. Oh, obviously LED lights are easier on your car's electrical system, but another benefit is that they give off very little heat.
