Your clutch bellcrank stud is what is used to screw into your 1982-1994 Firebird’s bellhousing to mount the clutch fork. The clutch fork is used to push the throwout bearing in when you depress the clutch pedal. While these things may not seem like much, the function of the clutch system is to transfer the rotational movement of the engine to the transmission, while at the same time offering a way to disconnect this force at the driver’s command every time the clutch is depressed.
