Features, Description, Q&A
The bushing at the top of the steering column is for aligning the gas and spark rods and the steering shaft. Before installing the bushing into the top of the column, slide the gas and spark rod through the bushing. Slide A3570 anti-rattle onto each rod 14" from the handle end and extend them through their holes at the bottom of the steering column. Next, tap the bushing in place. This will enable you to get the gas and spark rods through the end of the steering column much easier. Also note that from June 1930 to the end of production the screw holes were dropped and a V-shaped lug was added to secure the bushing. The reproduction doesn't have the V lug. Originally, this was unfinished zinc die cast.
